Charming Chianti Villa Vineyard Views

This beautifully decorated 13th century villa, sits in a quiet and secluded location, in the heart of the Chianti Classico Region. From the property, there are glorious views over the surrounding countryside of vineyards and olive groves. The property is accessed by a 1.7 km authentic and unsealed road. As we drove through the countryside, passing vineyards over unpaved natural passages, I was very curious as to where the road would lead. And much to my surprise, up on a hill, sat a glorious stone villa, wrapped in delicate green vines. As we approached the front door, I felt as though I was traveling into a novel, as I strolled each room, it told a story. This is one of my favorite residences in Italy.

Surrounded by 10 hectares of olive groves, vineyards and gardens, this villa provides the perfect retreat for those wanting to relax in full Tuscan style. The house dates back to the 13th century and is surrounded by a 180 degree veranda, from which there are uninterrupted views over the Chianti countryside.

The interior of the house offers an appealing blend of comfort and elegance. The home’s decor is filled with antiques and treasures. Each room is like being in a fairy-tale, at each turn, you will find a room more beautiful than the other. The main property has 5 bedrooms and the annex has 2 more bedrooms at an additional rate.

Ground Floor: Large fully equipped kitchen, dining room with large table, large living area sitting room, dramatic enter foyer with arched stone ceiling & large billiard room.

First Floor: A double bedroom with bathroom en-suite, twin bedroom with bathroom en-suite (can be converted into a double bed), double bedroom with bathroom en-suite, twin bedroom, (can be convert into a double bed), bathroom & stunning library. All bedrooms open out onto the gardens and terrace, which is ideal during summer months. On this floor guests can also retreat to a spacious library upstairs. The bedrooms are air conditioned. Given that the home is a 13th Century stone structure in the mountains, it remains cool.

Mezzanine level: A single bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

The outdoors features a stone natural pool, tennis courts, gardens, statues, a bocce ball court and comfortable outside dining.

One can either choose to eat in the large dining room or for more informal meals, there is the fully equipped and welcoming kitchen. Of course, eating ‘al fresco’ on the veranda is the most popular choice. In the evenings there is the ground floor drawing room, with a television. There are many places one can enjoy, while roaming this expansive retreat. There is a spacious and well appointed library upstairs. Alternatively, one can opt for a game of snooker on the full size table, prepare a meal in the kitchen, enjoy a swim in the pool, or enjoy a glass of wine from the terrace or gardens.

You can take a walk or drive up a typical Tuscan unpaved road, and at the end you will find a another beautiful authentic Tuscan building, which is a local restaurant offering the best food and wine. This restaurant has expansive and stunning views of the vineyards and rolling hills.

The rooms are all decorated with rich furnishings carefully selected to accentuate the theme of the historical home. Guests will love the en-suite master bedroom and private terrace with sunset views. Every room has large windows and views of the outdoors.
