This luxury Florence property has been decorated in luxurious contemporary decor. Guests are welcomed by entering, a gracious XVIIth century hall with it’s original columns and statues. A beautiful vaulted staircase leads to the upper floors. Access is also available by a recently installed mirror lined elevator.
The Palazzo’s origins date to the 12th century but its actual form is mainly derived from a 17th century renovation by the Marchese Anton Maria Bartolommei and designed by architecht Ferdinando Tacca who also signed the stunning entrance.
The Torre dei Girolami one of the highest towers remaining in Florence, adjacent to the Palazzo and belonging to the same estate, collapsed on it destroying the upper floors. These floors were rebuilt immediately after the war using the debris of the tower.
The lofted living room is on the top floor. The restoration of all the superstructures were crafted from the original structures, made of bricks and pillars from the tower. While sitting on the sofa, you have views from San Stefano church through the blossoming terrace, and at on the opposite you can see the tower of Palazzo Vecchio.
