Situated in the undulating green valleys that shape the northeastern part of the estate, this villa enjoys beautiful views over Montalcino to the southeast and the Borgo to the southwest. This once-rustic building has been transformed into an elegant Tuscan country villa, complete with an original 17th century wood-fired oven and sophisticated furnishings.

I visited the estate & vineyards in 2015. There are not only endless rolling hills of vineyards there is a castle as well. The property is magnificently manicured. There is restaurant on the property with expansive views and superb cuisine.  Originally home to the estate’s olive press, this Villa occupies a secluded spot overlooking the Borgo. Here, Tuscan tradition is updated with the subtle modern comforts in three spacious suites enhanced by original features and fireplaces. The marvelous views from the terraces and infinity pool provide glimpses of the nearby Montalcino.

Ten one-of-a-kind luxury villas created from restored 17th- and 18th-century farmhouses dot the Tuscan landscape and feature private heated pools. Terraces, pergolas and gardens frame the setting’s outstanding natural beauty.

This property provides the ideal base for exploring this fascinating region. The 800-year-old estate is situated on the ancient Via Francigena, a route traveled by merchants and pilgrims, in the heart of the UNESCO-protected Val d’Orcia. A meandering, cypress-lined road leads to the Borgo, the historic heart of the state’s bygone farming community. Located on a hilltop, overlooking patchwork fields that stretch out below towards Montalcino, the Borgo was the center of the estate’s activities for hundreds of years. Dominated by the ruins of the medieval castle that gives the estate its name, it is a place brimming with memories.

Further afield, Tuscany is a fascinating, multi-layered landscape that invites discovery. Guests can immerse themselves in Italian gastronomy, wine itineraries, active leisure pursuits, historical sightseeing and the timeless traditions of local artisans, craftsmen and farmers. Local guides and exclusive access make the experiences richer when exploring the region’s unique way of life.
