A luxury country retreat above Bellagio on Lake Como

I visited and stayed at this property in July 2016. From the moment I arrived, it took my breath away, I  was awestruck with the position of the Villa and the spectacular views. The breezes from the Lake are endless and you have the view of the Alps. You can smell the clean scent of the pines that are famous in the North of Italy. The owner made all of the furniture, even the iron shelves and fixtures in the bathrooms. The rooms are spacious and in bright white, the beveled glass antique doors are beautiful and provide pictures that accentuate the white rich wood carvings throughout the home. The fabrics are rich thick fibers of velvets and wool earth tones. The kitchen was one of my favorite rooms, still with all of the original tiles throughout the home on the floors and tiles on the walls of the kitchens and the bathrooms. The bathrooms were all renovated with glass showers. The water is very strong and the shower is very refreshing after a day on the Lake. You can sit at any part of the large property of 8 hectares. At night you can see clearly the stars, which seem to be within reach, as you are almost 700 meters high into the mountains. Fruit trees line the yard, also lavender and typical flowering plants and tall pines typical of northern Italy.

This Lake Como property is equipped with a large rustic kitchen with a breakfast area is flooded with morning sunlight thanks to numerous windows. The Villa has 8 large bedrooms.  The property has 2 areas for golfing and gardens to walk in your private oasis of 8 acres of mature typical foliage of the Lake area. All of the furnishings are new, including the bedding. The bedrooms have french doors that open to a small balcony from where the views open to the heavens. The bathrooms 1 en-suite are large and bright. The decor throughout is the them of rich woods, evident of a talented carpenter, in rich warm colors accentuated with bright white walls and trims.

The property is gated; there are pathways throughout this vast mountain retreat. You can take a walking path to a gate that you have a key which you can open and it takes you to the small town just a short stroll away. Along the way you will enjoy views of the Lake below and the Alps above. Enjoy a cappuccino at the local cafe and a croissant for breakfast. Further down the road is a grocery store with quality meats, wines from all over Italy, breads and more. You don’t have to leave this Villa, but if you chose to, you are about a 12 minute ride to the bottom of Bellagio or just a few roads above to a farm where you can enjoy dinner, including home made cheeses, pastas, wines, jams and more. This is a once in a lifetime experience where you can relax and be one with nature above one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe.

The ride down to Bellagio is about 12 minutes, for a fit adventurer this can be accomplished by a brisk hike or bike. A car is necessary. This is the perfect house to go upward and enjoy the views of the lake from the hills above, which can only be seen at this proximity. This is one of my favorite properties. If I had a choice to stay at one of these Villas for a holiday, I would chose this property. When I had the privilege of being here I didn’t want to leave.
