Paolo Sandulli… the Pottery of Praiano

Local artist, Paolo Sandulli, his well-known for being one of Praiano’s infamous artisans. Using “la spunga di mare” or sea sponge, along with other live plants for hair. He welcomed us into his studio at his studio on the sea, The Torre of Paolo Sandulli outside of the heart of Praiano. Within his tower, his finest pottery is shown off to anyone who wonders down to the studio.

Specifically known for the beautiful large hair made out of the sea sponge, his clay artwork boasts unique attributes that are only found within Paolo’s studio. In addition to his terra-cotta busts, his many mermaids are playfully suspended from the ceilings. After traveling and studying throughout the globe, Paolo settled for a simplistic lifestyle on the water in Praiano doing what he loves most, his artwork.
